Aspiring Early Childhood educators need experienced teachers & mentors

According to the agency responsible for early childhood education and care, the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA), which interviewed childcare educators in 2021, 73% of educators plan to move on from their ECEC role within 3 years. The sector faces issues of low pay and high workloads, and is experiencing a crisis in numbers, with qualified workers falling below the number of staff required. Many parents, usually mothers, have been forced to pause their careers in order to stay at home and care for children.

Recruitment for childcare workers is underway, and may only be achieved via proper training channels, namely via the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121) and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50121). Early Childhood teachers/trainers with industry experience will prepare the workforce for replenishment and stabilisation.
